Amy Fernando is the founder of Taste Film, a cinematic dining experience born from a simple idea: what if food could bring us closer to the characters and stories we love on screen?
A former Film Studies teacher with a deep appreciation for storytelling, Amy had the idea during the iconic prison cooking scene in Goodfellas. That moment sparked the first ever Taste Film event—an intimate screening in a family-run Italian restaurant in North West London, where guests shared more than just pasta. They shared an experience that felt new, and full of promise. It was a small start, driven by big ambition.
That belief—that food can carry the emotional weight of a story—is at the heart of everything Taste Film does. What began as a one-off event quickly gained momentum, resonating with a growing community of film and food lovers.
Amy’s mix of film love and inventive spirit is what makes Taste Film the game-changer it is today.

“I got my love of food from my mum and grandmother, who introduced me to their homelands, Ireland and Sri Lanka, through taste. This experience taught me that food can convey stories of other worlds like no other medium”.
Years later, Amy’s curated a team of film fans whose dedication to creating unforgettable cinematic events is unparalleled. Get to know the team below!

Phantom Thread. The food in this film serves as a powerful narrative device, both uniting and dividing the main characters. I don’t think I’ve seen another film where food carries so much emotional intensity, so I’d love to taste it.

Emily, our Executive Assistant and Team Co-Ordinator
You may recognise Em from their hilarious hosting at our events, well that’s not their only skill. Em is our newest office team member as well!
